Godwin Ofosuhene Nkrumah

Godwin is a partner in our Energy & Infrastructure (EI) team and co-leads our tax practice with Managing Partner, Seth Asante. 

He regularly advises on complex tax matters arising in mergers and acquisitions, structured finance, private equity, and general corporate transactions, often involving the energy, mining, and finance sectors in Ghana.

Godwin also has extensive experience in advising on indirect tax matters and assisting clients with tax audits and disputes. 

Godwin is ranked as a “Rising Star” in General Corporate Tax by the ITR World Tax, 2025.

• Advising Tullow Ghana Ltd on its successful international arbitration against the government of Ghana in connection with the applicability of branch profits tax to its income from petroleum operations in Ghana.
• Assisting a client with the tax implications of a proposed restructuring of a gold streaming arrangement.
• Advising a technology services provider on the direct and indirect tax implications. of fintech services provided under a collateral agreement.
• Advising and assisting a client on the restructuring of certain subcontracts to avoid cascading withholding tax implications.
• Advising a client on the tax implications of its business in Ghana and in connection with an appeal against an adverse objection decision of the tax authority.
