It provides legal, tax, transfer pricing and financial advisory services to multinational corporations. Petteri Rapo is managing partner at the firm and has extensive experience in business model optimisation projects. Partner Suvi Vänskä is head of tax at the firm. She specialises in corporate tax matters, generation shift planning, tax planning and tax structuring.

The team acted as the leading tax and legal advisor on Sinituote’s acquisition of VS-Haarja last year. It is currently acting as lead tax and legal advisor for UBS, Credit Suisse, Danske Bank and their clients in a case related to voluntary disclosure.
Peter Kjellberg joined the firm last year as tax specialist/paralegal. Associate Marianna Santamala joined the team in January of this year. Associates Anna Shumskaya and Mikko Laapas left the firm last year.
Deloitte’s Finnish tax and legal department offers clients a broad range of fully-integrated tax services. Mikko Jantunen is head of the tax management consulting department at the firm. He has worked for more than 15 years in corporate taxation.
In 2017 the team supported a client in a due diligence and structuring related to an acquisition, and the financing of a listed Finnish real estate investment group by a US-based investor. The team also assisted the Finnish subsidiary of a multinational corporation in a dispute that followed a tax audit.
Samuli Pyy-Zhong joined the firm in 2017 as leader of M&A legal. Senior consultant Veera Koski joined in the same year. Senior manager Marja Eskola also joined the firm in the same year. Markku Renko joined as transfer pricing senior manager. Maija Hakonen joined the firm as a senior consultant in business tax. Toni Huotari joined the firm as senior manager for business tax. Anna Shumskaya joined the transfer pricing team as a senior consultant. Turo Lehtonen and Anni-Mari Vatanen joined the firm as business tax senior consultants.
Jaakko Klemettilä is head of tax at DLA Piper Finland. Before joining the firm, Klemettilä had experience working at EY and PwC. The firm advises clients on a wide range of corporate tax issues and supports them with international tax planning, transactional tax and litigation.
In 2017 the firm advised on a VAT advance clearance application for Energia Myynti Suomi. It also advised on the tax aspects of a large M&A deal in 2017.

Hannes Snellman’s tax practice focuses on major M&A and transaction tax advice, as well as tax litigation services in complex tax disputes.
Over the last year the team has been supporting a client in a transfer pricing case before the Supreme Administrative Court. It has also been acting as counsel to Skandia Fastigheter, supporting its first acquisition in Finland.
Specialist partner Petri Saukko joined the firm in 2017. Associate Paula Laakso joined the firm in the same year. Before joining, Laakso worked as a senior tax advisor at EY. Jenni Parviainen joined the firm as a senior associate in 2018. Before joining the firm Parviainen was a senior associate at Castrén & Snellman. Partner Ossi Haapaniem left the firm and joined Roschier in 2017.
KPMG Finland’s tax and legal practice is the oldest in Finland, having existed for more than 30 years. Tax partner Jussi Järvinen is experienced in internal organisation and financing arrangements, and tax matters. Juha Sääskilahti is head of tax and legal and specialises in VAT, customs and excise duties.

The team at Roschier offers tax advice connected to national and cross-border transactions, such as M&As, private equity, real estate and public company restructurings. Mika Ohtonen is head of the tax and structuring practice and offers in-depth expertise and broad experience in M&A, private equity and real estate tax structuring and planning.
In 2017 Roschier represented an international syndicate of senior lenders in a multi-billion euro post-PTO refinancing of Sponda. The team was also involved in the set-up of a joint venture structure and acquisition of real estate portfolio for a client.
Partner Ossi Haapaniemi joined the firm in 2017. He was partner and head of structuring and tax at Hannes Snellman before joining the firm. Former partner at PwC Merja Raunio joined Roschier as a senior tax advisor in the same year.
Senior associates Ritva Aalto and Linda Simonsen left the firm in 2018.
