The established law firm is part of DLA Piper’s international network and is well regarded for its tax controversy and litigation support services; however, the firm is also notable for its general corporate tax advisory, tax compliance and due diligence review, and can advise on multijurisdictional transactions. The core tax team of four dedicated practitioners include tax partners Caleb Langat and Milly Jalega.  

In February 2023, the tax team successfully defended ABSA Bank Kenya PLC in a $25m VAT dispute with the KRA at the Tax Appeals Tribunal and subsequently at the High Court. The precedential court ruling is impactful for the Kenyan banking industry.
