Seok Hoon Kang is a Managing Partner of Yulchon. Prior to this leadership role, he served as the Head of Yulchon’s Tax Practice. Before joining Yulchon, he served as a judge at various courts for 17 years, including the Southern Branch of the Seoul District Court, the Seoul Civil District Court, the Andong Branch of the Daegu District Court, the Northern Branch of the Seoul District Court, and the Seoul High Court. He has been specializing his research in tax law research and analysis for four years as a research judge and a chief research judge at the Supreme Court of Korea. Furthermore, he was a lecturer in tax law at the Judicial Research and Training Institute for two years. For last three years, he has been giving lectures to judges specializing in taxation law. Mr. Kang received his LL.B. degree from Seoul National University and his LL.M. from Seoul National University and the Georgetown University Law School. He has authored many publications, including "Precedents and Interpretation Theory on Deemed Gift of Stock Registered Under a Third Party Nominee" (2006); "A Study on Disposition of Income and Alteration of Income Amount Notice" (2006); "Application of Denial of Unfair Transaction Rules to Unfair Merger after Stock Transfer: Judgment on Other Types of Granting Benefits"(2005); "Review of 2005 Corporate Income Tax Law Cases" (2006); and "Automobile Dispute between United States and Korea: Limits of Section 301 under the World Trade Organization Dispute Settlement System."
