Eduardo joined Ashurst as a partner and is head of the Ashurst tax practice for EMEA and the US. Prior to joining Ashurst he was a partner in the Tax department at Garrigues, Abogados y Asesores Tributarios.

He specialises in tax matters of M&A, real estate, finance and distressed debt as well as on international tax, European tax and transfer pricing projects. He has advised a wide range of Spanish and international corporate, funds and financial institutions on the tax planning and structuring of inbound investment into Spain. He has also advised on a considerable number of outbound investments advising on the corporate and operational restructuring of multinationals. Eduardo specialises in Spanish, EU and international taxation of companies, VAT and other indirect taxation.

He has also developed a broad experience in tax dispute resolution, covering all the services required by the clients, from the prevention of tax conflicts with the tax authorities (mainly by way of APAs), to their representation before the courts or by alternative dispute resolutions mechanisms otherwise.

Eduardo has been the Spanish private sector representative at the Joint Forum on Transfer Pricing of the European Union since 2002 until 2015. He has been continuously named "Leading Individual" in transfer pricing in the World Tax Handbook by the International Tax Review since 2003.

Additionally, he has been recommended in various editions as "Leading Tax Lawyer" by prestigious publications such as Who's Who, PLC Which Lawyer and International Tax Review and he is currently ranked in Band 1 by one of the most relevant legal directories: Chambers and Partners Europe. Eduardo also holds a recognition as Eminent Practitioner on Legal 500.

He is a lecturer in the Master in International and European Business Law of ICADE and on a number of courses on international tax matters sponsored by ESADE, Instituto de Empresa (IE) and other universities.

He is a member of the steering committee of Asociación Española de Asesores Fiscales (AEDAF), the most relevant association of tax professionals in Spain, and a member of the Professional Tax Affairs committee at European Tax Confederation (CFE).

He has a degree in Law with the qualification as business advisor from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE-E1) in Madrid.
