Rafael Goulart

Rafael is a counsel with more than 14 years of experience who heads the Tax Law practice. Prior to joining Abreu Goulart & Santos Advogados, he worked at Bichara Advogados and BMA Advogados. His knowledge of State Tax (ICMS) and other federal tributes is outstanding, as is his knowledge of municipal taxes, such as Municipal Service Tax (ISS) and Urban Real Estate Tax (IPTU). He advises a range of interesting clients, particularly on the retail and services sectors.

• Advising Físia Comércio de Produtos Esportivos on its dispute with the Brazilian Federal Tax Authority to attain tax credit recognition, as well as the removal of tax liability due to refunds requested through the PER/DCOMPs. Matter value: BRL 5 million [USD 1 million] [Conversion Rate: USD 1 – 0.20 BRL]. We are awaiting on the ruling regarding our requests.
• Advising SBF Comércio de Produtos Esportivos on its dispute with the Brazilian Federal Tax Authority in an objection against the counterparty’s decision that disapproved a debt singled out for auditing due to inconsistencies found in the information provided by the client on its corporate income tax return. Matter value: BRL 5 million [USD 1 million] [Conversion Rate: USD 1 – 0.20 BRL]. We are waiting on a decision regarding the objection.
