SMPS Legal advised Kio Networks on the tax structure to increase its share in local software-as-a-service (SaaS) company MasNegocio, becoming the target's sole owner. We were in charge of the tax aspects of the acquisition from a Mexican tax perspective.
Monterrey-headquartered KIO operates 40 data centres specialising in cloud storage, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. In addition to Mexico, it has offices in the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Panama and Spain.
Founded in 2000, MasNegocio was the first Latin American company to offer SaaS applications to businesses.
