The practice is geared towards contentions tax matters, and the team has extensive experience helping clients challenge tax collection actions, from income tax, social contributions, ICMS, ISS, etc. The firm advises some wealthy Brazilian families on estate planning and succession issues involving large rural properties, real estate, and equity investments and clients in several import/export issues, as well as on benefits associated with free trade zones.
During the research period, the firm assisted Enel in a lawsuit before the Federal Curt to offer a guarantee for fiscal regularity
considering the emergence of executable tax debt and the client’s urgency to obtain the certificate of good standing (CND) necessary to participate in a large public bidding process.
Without the certificate, the client would lose out on the bid, which would have a direct impact on the company's profitability.
