Catalina Hoyos Jimenez, Education: Universidad Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario (Law degree, 1998, Tax Law Program, 2002; Universidad de Salamanca, Candidate to PhD). Memberships: Colombian Institute of Tax Law Board Member, Vice-President and Former Chairperson. Latin American Institute of Tax Law Board Member. International Fiscal Association (IFA) Member. Jaime Moya-Suárez, Education: Attorney-at-law from the Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario (1997); Specialization in financial law of the same university (1998), and an honor graduate of that program; Master in law (LL.M) with an emphasis in international finance (Enrique Low-Murtra scholarship) from the Harvard Law School. Experience: General Secretary – Legal Manager of Almacenes Éxito S.A. (2009 – 2011); Legal Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá, (2001 – 2005); Senior associate of the law firm Brigard & Urrutia Abogados. The tax team at Godoy & Hoyos Abogados SAS comprises two partners and 13 other professionals. Catalina Hoyos Jimenez is the director of the firm's tax group, and Juan Pablo Godoy is the deputy director.
The firm offers services in M&A, restructuring, reorganisations, projects and general tax advice. Its client list includes Grupo Sanford, Grupo Sura, Grupo Bolívar, Credicorp Capital, Key Energy, ExxonMobil and Fragances.
Over the past year, the firm assisted Credicorp Capital in the acquisition of 49% of its share interest in Credicorp Colombia. It also advised HUBER SE on tax and corporate matters in the construction of a wastewater treatment plant in Bello. Further, it has assisted in designing the tax structure of the real estate project of Almacenes Exito – Viva Malls.
New members of the team are Daniela Lozada, Carolina Rojas, Nathaly Higuera, Santiago Pineda and Pablo Ardila.
