Morrison & Foerster made a statement of intent about its tax practice in Tokyo early in 2011 by hiring White & Case partner Eric Roose, of counsel Michael Shikuma and two Japanese specialists, Yasuo Igarashi and Takeo Mizutani. It will be interesting to see how quickly these well-known names can establish the firm as a leading name for tax advice in Japan.
