Law firm Lewin & Wills, has made a big impact in the Colombian tax market and still merits its top tier ranking. Alfredo Lewin, the founding partner of the firm, is head of a tax group that is is praised by a client for its "personalised and high-quality work". Lewin and Adrián Rodríguez advised BP on Colombian tax structuring, and foreign investment in relation to the corporate and legal aspects of a buy-out of the company's Colombian subsidiary. The deal was completed in March 2011. To keep up with market trends and to grow its department, the group recently started an oil & mining practice and hired Mariana Sánchez, a specialist with more than 15 years of experience in those mining industries.
