Oleh Marchenko and Vladimir Didenko lead the tax practice at Magisters-Taxand. Marchenko is known for his work on M&A and cross-border structuring. Didenko is an indirect tax specialist. The firm's clients include INN International Trading & Sharing, Goldman Sachs, Alfa-Bank, Bunge and Nestle Ukraine. The tax team comprises 12 fee earners including two partners. In the last 12 months the tax practice was strengthened with the addition of four associates. The firm advised Boris Fuchsmann and Alexander Rodnyansky on the $220 milion acquisition of Studio 1+1, one of the largest media holdings in Ukraine, to CME, a US public media group. This was the largest transaction in the media sector in Ukraine. Marchenko and Didenko advised Goldman Sachs on the establishment of a retail real estate development joint venture with XXI Century, one of Ukraine's leading real estate investment companies. The firm advised Goldman Sachs on international tax structuring, mitigating tax risks, transfer pricing, and real estate M&A matters in this transaction which was worth $500 million. The firm advised Unimilk on Ukrainian tax aspects of worldwide restructuring of the groups assets and operations. The deal was worth $2 billion.
