Voegele Partner-NERA concentrates entirely on transfer pricing. The firm is headed by sole equity partner Alexander Voegele and comprises 12 fee earners.
It is a niche firm which gets less and less of its fee income from typical transfer pricing work. For example, the practice has not done any documentation for 3 years and 85% of its work comes from projects that have nothing to do with Germany. The firm increasingly does a lot of valuation work and tends to represent clients in those jurisdictions where authorities are most aggressive.
Last year Voegele did valuation work for clients in the energy sector, including a big- three oil company. And through his valuation of the commercial benefits, Voegele managed to avoid Sweden's interest deduction rules in the restructuring of 150 subsidiaries.
