Haarmann's tax practice is based in Frankfurt and is led by Wilhelm Haarmann, who is singled out by his peers for his corporate tax work. He is seen as the star of the team, though the market also views the rest of the team as strong.
The practice advises on a broad range of business tax matters including M&A, transfer pricing, valuations and group reorganisations. Work has included advising a well-known British mobile network operator on the acquisition of a German competitor and advising one of the largest European software companies on the acquisition of all shares in a Swiss company.
The practice is also strong in litigious matters. Haarmann often represents clients at the tax court of the German Fiscal Court. The group also has a lot of experience in representing clients in cases hingeing on German controlled foreign company rules.
