Ernst & Young Terco's tax practice is led by Gil Mendes, who along with Marcelo Lira, is well known for his corporate tax, cross-border structuring and M&A advice. Romero Tavares is the head of the corporate tax advisory team. Werner Stuffer, who joined from PwC Germany in December 2011, leads the practice's transfer pricing group and European inbound practice, which has seen a large volume of work from the US, the UK and Germany. The team has also seen an increasing amount of out-bound work to Europe, Asia, and the US, as more Brazilian companies expand their operations internationally. The firm has added another three new partners: Serge Huysmans and Alberto Lopez, from Ernst & Young in the US, and Artur Braga, who was an internal promotion.
