Deloitte is consistently described as a top tax practice in South Africa. It is led by Nazrien Kader, who oversees a team of 33 partners and 196 other fee earners working on all areas of tax, including a dedicated partner and team for specialist areas such as its Namibia practice. Its transfer pricing team is also lauded.
"If pushed, I'd say Deloitte is the best of the big four," said one competing partner.
The firm has seen some personnel losses over the past 12 months, with a dozen professionals leaving the firm. However, they have been replaced by five new directors, including Suzanne Van der Merwe, who joined the public sector team.
