Lawyers in the tax practice of Baker Botts have advised clients in several countries, on topics including the effects of bilateral and multilateral tax treaties. The practice has 23 tax partners that are well-versed in all aspects of tax representation, including income tax, international tax, tax controversy and transfer pricing. In the past year three associates joined the tax group. Clients of the practice include oil and gas companies such as Apache and related businesses such as Transocean and Pride International, both offshore drilling companies. The practice advised on an $11 billion reorganisation of Schlumberger and Smith International, an oilfields services company in 2010.
