The Wimbanu Widyatmoko-led tax team, comprising three partners and 12 associates, advises domestic and foreign companies on structuring tax efficient arrangements for international transactions.
Tax disputes have also been a key line of work for the firm. Widyatmoko represented a group of drilling companies in a case involving adjustments made by the ITA, which argued that the client was not providing a drilling service, so its income and expatriate staff should be subject to a normal tax regime, rather than the special provisions under the deemed profit arrangement. Widyatmoko successfully argued before the tax court that the client does provide drilling services, securing a favourable ruling for the client.
