Carey y Cía is a stand-out law firm in Chile. The tax department is tremendously successful and well recognised. "It is a very important firm in this market," said a competitor. In the last year the firm took the innovative step of adding two tax accountants with significant experience at the tax administration to the group. This means that, for the first time, in connection with an acquisition in Chile, Carey was engaged by a major international client to do all tax structuring and tax due diligence work. "We felt we were missing out on projects clients wanted us to do," said a senior partner a the firm, "so we had to bring in the accountants to help." The addition of four new associates further strengthens the group.
