Miguel Teixeira de Abreu is a founding partner of Abreu Advogados and is the head of the firm's tax practice. Abreu is regarded as an authority on transfer pricing in Portugal as one of his peers explains: "He was possibly the first person to handle transfer pricing in the late 1980s so he has an awful lot of experienced and is recognised as a market leader." The firm's capability is not limited to transfer pricing, though and its services include M&A, international tax and structuring and tax controversy. Competitors note that the firm has been more visible in corporate tax work and cross-border structuring than in previous years, something which is impressive considering the challenging market conditions.
