The practice is particularly well-established in M&A and private equity deals. The group has also seen an increase in tax litigation over the last two years with a particular emphasis on tax residency of foreign taxpayers. This year the group advised on General Mills' purchase of a 51% stake in Yoplait in a deal that generated tax work for other French firms too.
Other work included the purchase of Sun Capital of the Albea division from Rio Tinto, and the acquisition of the Cegelec group by VINCI, which involved Qatari Diar becoming the largest shareholder in VINCI. The bulk of the practice's clients are French multinationals.
